Pregnancy sickness

Pregnancy sickness is the most common problem among women, of late. Almost every woman suffers from it during pregnancy. Pregnancy sickness is the flu for 14 weeks. Can she do it alone? Pregnancy sickness is the commonest medical condition of early pregnancy, but how badly affected you are varies widely from woman to woman (ACOG 2004). You may get the odd bout of mild queasiness when you first

wake up, or find that certain smells trigger your nausea throughout the day.

Pregnancy sickness is dysfunctional; allergy is a mistake. Menstruation is a fluke. Pregnancy sickness is like motion sickness in this respect. Even small movements of the head, as in brushing your teeth, can make NVP worse. Pregnancy sickness is a maladaptation. Women who suffer from pregnancy sickness should consume more raw vegetables.

Morning sickness has become synonymous with pregnancy in our culture. But certainly not every pregnant woman experiences it. Morning sickness is a misleading term, as nausea and vomiting can occur at any time of the day. Some women will find one or more remedies that can completely cure their nausea, while others may remain sick throughout their pregnancy.

Morning sickness affects up to one-half of all expectant mothers. It is most common during the first trimester of pregnancy. Morning sickness starts typically around the 6th week of pregnancy. If you get it badly you may find yourself unable to work, to care for your toddler or other children, to cook, shop or run your home. Pregnancy creates extra demands on the body for nutrients such as protein, iron, folate and iodine. Pregnant women need to focus on boosting their nutritional intake, rather than their energy (kilojoule) intake.

Pregnancy sickness is most pronounced during this period, and it drops off and often disappear s afterwards. Pregnancy gives you permission to be assertive; politely ask the annoying smoker to step outside, or mention to your coworker that you seem to have developed an aversion to patchouli oil. Pregnancy, it seems, is to be endured – and prettied up. I can certainly understand the impetus to want to be discreet about morning sickness (and the site does note that the bags could be used by anybody with nausea, or for doggie doo!), but I don’t know that there’s a need to ‘cute-ify’ a basic biological process.
